Important Tips For Refrigerant Recovery

By Mia Kent

There are some tips which are necessary to take note of while conducting refrigerant recovery. It is important to understand the system properly before conducting the refrigerant recovery. It is therefore necessary to identify the type and the quantity of the refrigerant as the first thing to do. Identifying the system will also enable you to know whether to use extra filtration before conducting the recovery. Identifying the quantity and the type also helps in the planning for the requirements needed for the storage and the actual recovery.

The size and type of the system is also important to take into consideration while preparing for the process. You must have the necessary equipment needed in order for the process to be successful. For instant, the storage equipment to use.

The speed of the process depends on the size and the length of the hose and the valve. For instance, larger valve reduced the friction while conducting the process thereby speeding up the process. On the other hand, thinner hoses will increase the friction thereby lowering the speed.

The shorter the hose, the higher the pressure hence increasing the speed for the process. On the other hand, the longer the hose, the lower the pressure hence reduces the speed of the process. It is therefore advisable to use a shorter and a larger hose in order to ensure that the process is faster.

The dirt must also be kept away from the system. This is because the dirt may case some internal damage to the system. It is therefore necessary to put a filter at the inlet port to prevent the dirt from getting inside. Each time a recovery is conducted; there should be use of a new filter just to ensure that the interior is protected.

Interior of the system must also be kept clean. Any dirt and dust must not be allowed to get inside. This is because the dirt and other inferior objects are likely to destroy the interior of the refrigerant. A filter is normally used especially at the inlet port in order to achieve this objective. Use of new filter is always recommended each time the process is done.

The first method involves the application of the pressure differential. The pressure differential is used to eliminate the liquid from the system. It is created by the recovery machine. It is also important to note that this method is best for use in bigger systems with receiver tanks. The use is however not recommended for systems with reversing valve. This reason also demonstrates the importance of identifying the type as well as the size of the system before indulging on the process.

For instant, push and pull method is suitable for use in a bigger system with receiver tank. In this method, pressure differential is used in removing the liquid out of the system. Any system with reversing valve is not suitable for using this method. An alternative method such as liquid method is therefore used in such instances. Liquid method is also suitable for use in systems with oil less compressors. It is worth noting that the vapor method and the liquid method are related in how they are conducted. The systems which are suitable for using the methods are also similar. It is therefore advisable to understand the system first and even to decide on the recovery method first before starting the process. These are some of the vital tips considered in refrigerant recovery.
