Since one is uninformed about the ways of others, he grows up thinking that the way he does things is the standard method, and any other technique done by another is considered wrong. People should not put people in boxes because when they do, chaos ensues.
Another cause is fear. As the old adage goes, people generally fear what they do not understand. Instead of taking measures to know and learn, they often react negatively to these and imply that they are better. This often stems from fear above everything else. They are afraid that they might be replaced by something better, which is why they spread about bad things to eliminate threats.
A racist, aside from being a fearful human, is also a very insecure one. Behind that tough exterior is someone who is secretly wishing they could be the other. Victims of this act are often left to feel worthless and stripped off of their self esteem that they would also want to inflict the same suffering to other people.
This often affects so many facets of living. Once a victim falls under its pressure, this can ultimately destroy him or her. Victims are often angry, violent, and bitter. They also have quite a destroyed self esteem that hinders them to see the good in things. This can even cause one to become depressed, anxious, and even mentally unwell.
It has also invaded even the aspects that are supposed to provide entertainment. This includes the world of professional sports. It is not surprising to hear that a certain athlete has been impeded from playing due to his color, because it happens quite often.
