Social Media Marketing Tips To Help You Fast

By Michael Murphy

If you are a business owner, many, if not most, of your customers have one or more social media accounts. Because of this, it's important to make your business a prominent figure on those sites. Explore the many social networking sites, and create a marketing campaign for the ones that best fit your business mix. This is a great way to form relationships and create new customers.

Always remain positive when marketing via social media. People like to be around others and things that make them feel good. Bad mouthing others or making negative statements can lead to others viewing your product or service negatively. Be sure to keep this in mind on your personal page as well if you have one.

To draw the right kind of visitors to your site, use YouTube in your marketing with social media. A well-done YouTube video can give viewers a comprehensive overview of your business or of a product or service, so that they become interested in browsing your company's website. It boosts sales when people who visit a product site already know what the product is about.

Understand that technology is driving social media and vice versa. Every day that social media becomes more popular, technology races to catch up, which prompts social media to become more popular. Know what the technology is offering your customers in their social needs so that you can take part in talking WITH them, as opposed to talking AT them.

To create social media content that really markets you covertly, come up with lists. Compose a list of the top fifty weird but true facts about your product, widget or niche. Top number lists seem a little boring to some, but they do tend to get quietly passed around the internet, providing a wonderful opportunity for your brand to get exposure.

Post links to other blog posts and have bloggers feature your content on their website. This will work if you return the favor and if bloggers see your blog as a good way to get publicity. Make sure there is no conflict of interest between you and the blogger who is going to feature you.

Try to collaborate with other people and companies when using social media. When they link to your content or share your content, you are being exposed to a brand new group of fans and followers. Return the favor and link to their content as well. The more people who link to your content and social media posts, the better off you are.

Create more than one profile on a same site. You could for instance have a page on a social networking site for your business as well as a profile page for a fictional character you use as a mascot. You might be able to reach out to a slightly different target audience with each page.

You can measure the success of your social media marketing by the sentiment and number of comments you receive about your posts. You need to pay attention to the comments because your followers will tell you if you are posting relevant information. If they are mostly positive, then keep up the good work. If they are negative, try tweaking your posts for a more positive sentiment.

Learn the posting patterns on social sites. The peak traffic times for many of these sites are at 7 A.M., 5 P.M. and 10 P.M. and those are the times that you should be sure to post something new. If you post more than those three times, be sure that you are posting something unique and interesting, but limit the total number of times you post each day.

Ask your customers to give you details about how they use social networks, perhaps in exchange for a nice freebie. If you see that your customers are spending an hour a day on social networking, create a social network profile. If your target audience does not care about social networks, perhaps you should focus your efforts on something else.

Utilize the wonderful world of social marketing to your full advantage by following the above tips. It may seem a bit overwhelming now; however, once you get your feet wet, you will accomplish it with ease.
