Long Island Marketing & Facebook With Teens

Websites are, in many cases, going to fluctuate depending on a number of aspects. With various rises and falls that are going to be seen, I have to believe that it is the falls that are able to gain more attention, which is fair to assume. Speaking of which, it seems as though more focus has been brought to the idea of Facebook, in particular how teenagers are not using it as much. With the work of Long Island marketing in mind, why is it that such usage has gone down?

CNNMoney reported on this and Facebook actually commented on the matter, too. Facebook financial chief officer David Ebersman said that, indeed, teenagers have not been using the site as much, judging by the results seen in the first quarter. This does not mean that the site is in trouble, as it has been stated that overall usage has been kept at a stable level, which is fortunate for Long Island marketing efforts. I think that there is something to consider about Facebook, though, especially in relation to how teens are not utilizing the platform as much.

I think you can state that parents are probably using the site too much for the tastes of many teens. Keep in mind that Facebook started off as a college experiment of sorts that has been able to not only connect Harvard students but those in various parts of Boston as well. These days, though, it is more of a universal platform that just about anyone can utilize, even if the individuals have children of their own. With this in mind, teenagers have desired other platforms so that they may vent more freely, for example.

Another reason probably has to do with the influx of various other websites that are far more visual by comparison. From Instagram to Pinterest, it seems as though young people are more focused on visual media than anything else and I am sure that those in Long Island marketing can agree. In fact, after being a regular Tumblr user, I can definitely see the appeal in comparison to something like Facebook. Teens have flocked elsewhere and firms like fishbat will be able to see such a transition as well.

This is not to say that Facebook is in any immediate danger, which I am sure goes without saying for most. In actuality, Facebook has remained steady and it is still arguably the most platform for the sake of social media that you can imagine. That being said, there has been a decrease in teenage usage. With such groups going to other websites in which they have more privacy, in most cases, this may seemingly create competition that helps to make all parties involved more effective.
