The Baltimore Orioles: How They Tie Into Truck Wraps & Advertising

Attractions are crucial if cities want to draw in as many tourists as possible. There are many prominent examples of this, ranging from theme parks to museums. Essentially, if there is anything of value to be seen, people are going to be drawn to it. This is where the subject of baseball comes in. More specifically, it is important to talk about the Baltimore Orioles and there are many reasons why specialists in truck wraps would be able to see how the Orioles tie into clever advertising.

CBS DC posted an article in regards to a billboard that was placed along I-295 in Maryland, just before the Washington D.C. border. What the billboard in question shows are a group of three players from the Baltimore Orioles baseball team: Adam Jones, Chris Davis and Manny Machado. While the billboard itself may be able to grab attention, you may be curious about what the purpose of it is. To put it simply, it was designed and set up in order to get people to buy tickets.

To explain this matter in detail, it was reported that the billboard would have a phone number that people could call for the purpose of buying tickets. One of the reasons why this is crucial is because the billboard itself was located around 6.5 miles or so outside of Nationals Park. For those who aren't baseball fans, this arena has been known as the "home" of the Washington Naturals. It's because of this that a feud of sorts can spark, which is common when talking about sports in general.

With favoritism towards sports teams aside, though, this kind of ad placement is a movement that can call for the support of authorities such as JMR Graphics. Strategy is crucial when it comes to advertising with any materials, ranging from billboards to truck wraps. Placement is especially important and the fact that this particular billboard was positioned in what many sports fans would call enemy territory is very creative. It's a move that will, undoubtedly, draw in publicity. After all, this is the goal of advertising in general.

It's hard to measure the amount of passion that sports fans have and I believe that this rings especially true for those who love baseball. The support for a particular team is hard to deny, which is why I can see a billboard focusing on an opposing team garnering much in the way of negative attention. With that said, the ad placement in question is impressive, to put it mildly. Seeing as how the billboard was placed especially close to Nationals Park, its effectiveness will undoubtedly speak volumes.
