Google Ads Or Amazon - Which Sells Products Faster?

By David John

Do you have a digital product that you would like to sell on the Web? Perhaps you have some experience with creating websites, and you also know how to drive traffic to your offers using Google Adwords. If this is the case, then you might want to consider another alternative which is listing your products on Amazon.com. In this article, we will look at the benefits and drawbacks to listing a product on Amazon opposed to creating a website that sells the products that you have for sale.

Amazon Traffic Versus Google Traffic

If you are going to sell a physical product on Amazon, there is a set up process that you must go through. If it's just a digital book that you can sell on Kindle, this is actually much easier to do. In regard to traffic, you have to remember that everyone that goes to Amazon is typically a buyer. Therefore, when you list products on Amazon, the people that find you are likely to purchase what you have to sell.

Selling Products Using Google Ads

When you sell products from your own website using Google ads, and you are driving targeted traffic using keywords that are related to what people would be searching for on the web if they were looking to purchase a product that you own, many of these people are not actually looking to purchase anything, but are probably looking for more information on the topic before making the purchase. Therefore, even though you have more control over who goes to your website, the likelihood of them actually wanting to buy your product will be much lower than if you had something on Amazon. Therefore, listing a product on Amazon will likely lead to more sales, especially if you can get a significant amount of traffic to the products that you have listed.

With Amazon people will find that they are going to be listing their products directly onto a selling platform. This means people will end up getting the benefit of already selling with a trusted brand name. However, people need to realize that Amazon is going to charge a fee for the products when they have sold. However, with the brand name of Amazon, the chance of getting more sales is higher than trying to convince people to buy from a stand alone store.
