Ovarian Cancer Awareness & The Use Of Trailer Wraps

By Robert Sutter

It goes without saying but out-of-home advertising can accomplish a number of different tasks in the long term. Perhaps it will direct people to a company in order for them to purchase its goods. Maybe it is more of an idea of promoting a movie up until its imminent release date. However, did you know that items like trailer wraps can be utilized in order to raise awareness for medical conditions? This was what Chris Baxter set out to accomplish and his story is an engaging one.

AJC posted an article that spoke about Chris Baxter and his wife, Virginia, who was recently diagnosed with ovarian cancer. As a result of this, she had to undergo surgery, which was then followed by chemotherapy done for a month. It is clear that this event made an impact and, as a result, Baxter decided to take matters into his own hands in order to educate others about ovarian cancer. The way that he went about this, though, was actually very interesting from what I've read.

More specifically, Baxter took it upon himself to utilize both his truck and boat in order, setting wraps on them, encouraging women to become tested for ovarian cancer. It would not only urge them to get checked but supply inquisitive individuals with information on how to go about this process. This was a strong idea on the part of Baxter, as the boat proved to be helpful for more than just fishing competitions after that point. It would soon become a vehicle that encouraged a good cause.

When it comes to marketing anything, I am of the opinion that trailer wraps are amongst the most reliable items. After all, they have been used in the past in order to promote media like TV shows and movies but to utilize them for the sake of awareness for a medical condition is certainly out of the ordinary. However, Baxter took his vehicles and made the most of this, promoting ovarian cancer awareness both on land and at sea. Not only are these wraps affordable but authorities like JMR Graphics can attest to the reach that they have.

Ovarian cancer is one of the more serious medical conditions seen, which is a point that can be attributed to any type of cancer. After all, it is a condition that deserves to be focused on and I have to believe that Baxter's efforts in the way of marketing have proven themselves. He had a strong message to get across and it's clear that these wraps were able to accomplish this task. In time, I have to believe that Baxter's wraps will be able to educate even more people.
